Steve received his architecture degree from the University of California, Berkeley and trained in a variety of architectural firms in the San Francisco Bay Area. He established his own practice in 1988 and has completed over 100 projects ranging from residential remodels and new construction to educational and commercial projects.

Steve has travelled extensively in Asia, Europe, and North America. His design aesthetic has been influenced by the simplicity and elegance of japanese architecture as well as the timeless quality of the european and american traditional buildings.

His approach to community design is inspired by the organic development and pedestrian scale of the rural villages he has studied around the world.
